BANGtea x Formosa Chocolates GABA oolong bar
To celebrate the new year, Kimberly Yang of Formosa Chocolates and I developed this limited edition "tea chocolate bar" using on of our most popular teas, our GABA oolong! Enjoy our first collaboration together in a fun hongbao (紅包)celebrating The Year of the Snake 🧧🐍
About the tea: The Spring 2024 GABA oolong "offers a rich, fruity broth, evoking the indulgent taste of a luscious fruit pie with a lingering, sweet aftertaste." It has been certified as meeting the minimum threshold of GABA content of 150mg/100g leaves. The GABA content for the 2024 harvest has achieved a concentration of 193mg/100g leaves. The leaves have undergone an extended 3-day anaerobic fermentation process and are finished with a 4-hour roast.
About the bar: after tasting several oolongs from the collection, Kim felt the GABA tea was unlike any she had ever tasted. Kim tried several formulations over the fall, and we decided on this one. It is 11% tea leaves by weight, blended with cocoa butter, chocolate, and sugar, and packaged in a limited edition red envelope.
